Commissar Dulin’s 707 Penal Legion (Demon Dogs) vs Dark Eldar (Part 3)

Sister Stern lay on the floor on her hands and knees. Blood ran from her nose. With a shaking hand she reached out for the command console to her side to pull herself up. She final managed to catch hold and pull herself up. She set up and took a few deep breathes. Warping the Dark Eldar webways for so long had exhausted her. See looked at the data coming on the command feeds. The Adeptus Astartes had defeated the Dark Eldar’s main force, and The 707 had managed to hold off the secondary Forces, though it seemed they had lost the Commissar. Tragic if the feed was correct; she needed Commissar Dulin’s leadership. The penal legions were only half as effective without him. There could still be time. She typed up a command to be sent to the Erue’s Squat Mechanicus' division, to do whatever was needed.

The Erue was one of the most ancient Cathedral Fortresses.  Its ancient Etherium shield generator was a relic from the Golden age of man. It coated the Cathedral in a bubble that warped reality, bending and twisting time and space.  This creates Confusion and Disorientation making it nearly impossible for its foes to see or target it. Those that glimpse it like a shimmering ghost for a moment suffer terror, and sometimes memory loss. Those that have managed to attack it have just seen their attack pass through it as if it wasn’t there, and maybe it never was as it bends time and reality. This power comes at a cost though. All the Cathedra’sl power feeds the Etherium shield generator, making it completely weaponless. Also its side effects caused the Lords of Terra to bane it from Earth’s Star Sector. It was turned into a prison Cathedral, a home to those the Lords of Terra have deemed expendable. The massive catacombs in its base are filled with Cyro Chambers filled with Penal Legions, Abhumans such as Goliath chamber guards, Squat mechanics , Null Assassins and other things and experiments long forgotten by the imperium and by their choice. Those sentenced to serve there find their very souls bound to it, unable to ever again be far away from it, Eternal prisoners to its halls. For some reason nothing seems to be able to fly with in its skys, so tube chambers shoot down pods, like nuclear rods to the worlds they visit. This tubes are submarine like vessels the size of carriers and destroyers. They land in the water like environments of the worlds they visit. Those without water like environments the tubes micro adjust and become sub terrain drill like vessels, nicknamed Sand Sharks by the Cathedral inhabitants.

Sister Ephrael Stern Known as the Thrice-Born and the Daemonifuge, scared the Lords of Terra. Her power could save or topple mankind. They found themselves torn on her fate, so she was soul bound to the Erue as its new warden.  This way they could use her or destroy her as needed. The Pilot of the Cathedral was sealed in its tallest tower and has never been seen by its inhabitants, all that is know is it is he who takes it to its ordered locations and serves only the High Lords. The rest of its operations fall to Stern and her chosen Consortium counsel. They have been sanctioned to do whatever is required for victory. Wither to study heretical or xeno technologies or ally with them.

She had been ordered to work her way down to the planet below and covertly gather ad study the Necron technology picked up recently. It seems the signal has increased due to them awaking, if the reports coming in were to be believed.  This changed everything. She had better contact the Salamanders and advise them of her presence. Odds are they wouldn’t share much or team up with the penal legions or abhumans and a few of their goals would conflict, but they needed to make sure the imperium of man was the winners.
